About Artist

Matthew’s style of art has been passed down by his parents whilst growing up at a young age he was always surrounded by culture,
always going to the weekend markets with his parents and helping them with their art stall, from there he was able to create his own unique style of Indigenous contemporary art using bright colours and intricate designs,
His main feature that he paints is the tree of life, it depicts his connection to land and culture, our land is more then what it is, it is a living and breathing soul, an everlasting connection to our ancestors, through his paintings, he tries to put this into his artworks, the connection that we all share with our land.
He currently works for the Royal Australian Navy as a Regional Indigenous Coordinator for the Shoalhaven region, his passion is helping others in reconnecting back to their culture and going out into communities and providing his assistance, His culture is such a big part of his life constantly learning and growing as a young indigenous man,
Matthew is also a (Yidaki) Didgeridoo player, performing all over Australia with the Royal Australian Navy at various events and even performing at worldwide events, displaying his proud heritage through the sounds of the Didgeridoo.
