Artist Statement

“My Country” totems take you on a journey that captures the vibrancy and vast beauty of our land. The artwork symbolizes the unique way Aboriginal Peoples experience their very deep spiritual identity to the land and dreamtime stories. The essence and place of belonging, in a way of their ancestors, remain in the landscape, sky, waterways, and animals. The diverse pattern and symbols of women, elders and people gathering around the yarning circle passing on support, wisdom, and stories that are shared within family lines.
